Any fuel storage having a capacity of 55 gallons or more and that is above ground, partially buried, bunkered or totally buried is considered a bulk fuel storage.

Storage for large scale bulk fuel are regarded as terminal fuel tanks.

BOVAS operates oil depots in Nigeria which are used for the storage of petroleum products. These products are transported to further storage facilities or retail stations. Currently, we have two oil depots in Nigeria and a jetty. We provide throughput for various oil marketers in Nigeria.
We operate two oil terminals and a jetty. We are currently constructing an aviation fuel terminal.
We adopt various practices to ensure that we meet all stipulated guidelines. All our tanks are ISO-certified and have a long span without maintenance. We adopt various procedures at all our depots, such as:
  • Secondary Containment
  • Bund
  • Drip Tray
  • Overfill Prevention
  • Vent Pipes, Tapes & Valves
All our depots and jetty operate ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) Code for the safety and security of our crew, jetty, ports and cargo.
We adopt and periodically assess a Risk Evaluation & Management Process implemented across our depots. Our staff also undergo consistent HSE trainings. Our health procedures deal with the well-being of the employees as they live and work in their environment. Our safety procedures focus on protecting our employees from risks involved during any type of operation and duties. Our environmental procedures aim to provide products, services and technical advice which will not cause injury or undue effects on the environment. All our activities are subject to a declaration of environmental compatibility issued by the competent Authorities.

Since inception, our terminal facilities have maintained zero-accident incidence rate. We have a dedicated fire station with water trucks and all necessary infrastructure on standby.
Our tank farms have a capacity of 73,000,000 litres of of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and Dual Purpose kerosene (DPK).
Our aviation fuel terminal facility under construction is designed to hold a capacity of 500,000 litres of aviation fuel.
Our tanks are primarily used to store and aid the delivery of:
  • Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)
  • Automotive Gas Oil (AGO)
  • Dual Purpose kerosene (DPK)

Our depots has an adjoining trailer parks with both having a capacity of parking 100 trucks, which is the largest private trailer park in Nigeria. Each of our depots has a loading capacity of over 4,000,000 litres of products daily. This means we can load out at least 100 trucks having a 44,000-litre capacity per day.

We offer flexible plans for offices, organisations and/or industries with huge requirement of our fuel or gas.
We also offer bulk fuel storage solutions for companies and industries with heavy machinery, vehicle fleets.
